PART1 トーマス・ニューホール（Thomas Newhall） 東京大学講師
東京大学大学院人文科学研究科インド哲学仏教学研究室所属の講師。2025年にUCLA（カリフォルニア大学ロサンゼルス校）にて博士号を取得。2016年に東京大学、2012年に仏光大学（台湾）で修士号を取得、2007年にオベリン大学（米国オハイオ州）で学士号を取得。専門は中世中国および日本の寺院生活や戒律文献の思想と歴史的展開。
Thomas Newhall Lecturer at Tokyo University
Thomas Newhall is a Lecturer in the Department of Indian Philosophy and Buddhist Studies at the University of Tokyo. He completed his PhD in the Department of Asian Languages and Cultures at UCLA in 2025, and received master's degrees from the University of Tokyo (2016) and Foguang University (2012) in Taiwan, and a bachelor’s degree from Oberlin College (2007) in Ohio prior to that. His research focuses on the development of monasticism and monastic literature in China and Japan.
PART2 マイケル・コンウェイ (Michael Conway) 大谷大学准教授
1997年ノースウェスタン大学卒業（歴史学専攻）。2003年大谷大学大学院修士課程（真宗学専攻）入学。2005年大谷大学大学院修士課程修了。2006年大谷大学大学院博士後期課程（真宗学専攻）入学。2009年大谷大学大学院博士後期課程満期退学。2009年大谷大学文学部任期制助教着任（2011年まで）。2011年博士号取得、東方仏教徒協会（The Eastern Buddhist Society）編集者着任（2015年まで）。現在、大谷大学文学部准教授（真宗学）。
Michael Conway Associate Professor at Otani University
Michael Conway is currently an associate professor in the Shin Buddhist Studies Department at Otani University in Kyoto. He received his BA from Northwestern University in 1997 and entered the Master’s program in Shin Buddhist Studies at Otani in 2003. He completed his MA at Otani in 2005 and his PhD there in 2011. After serving departmental assistant for the Shin Buddhist Studies Department at Otani and the managing editor of The Eastern Buddhist, he joined the faculty at Otani University in 2015.
PART3 亀山光明 武蔵野大学講師
武蔵野大学講師。プリンストン大学大学院博士課程在籍。専門は宗教学、日本思想史、近代仏教史。2017年大阪大学文学部卒業、2019年東北大学大学院国際文化研究科修士課程修了。元・ハワイ大学客員研究員。著書『釈雲照と戒律の近代』（法藏館、2022年）により、日本宗教学会賞および第9回中村元東方学術奨励賞を受賞。戒律・儀礼・宗教史学・史学史・国家と仏教の関係など、幅広い関心から研究を行っている。
Mitsuhiro Kameyama Assistant Professor at Musashino Univeristy
Mitsuhiro Kameyama is an Assistant Professor at Musashino University and a PhD candidate at Princeton University. He specializes in modern Japanese Buddhism, with broader interests in monastic discipline, ritual, historiography, modern thought, and negotiations between Buddhism and the state.
His first book, Shaku Unshō to Kairitsu no Kindai, a study of the monk Shaku Unshō and his precept-revival movement in modern Japan, received the Japanese Association for Religious Studies Award and the Ninth Nakamura Hajime Prize for the Promotion of Oriental Studies.
